These are my raw materials which are 100% natural cotton yarns in different colors. I weave my towels from these yarns
Here is my atelier which I create my unique towels and throw blankets. I weave my items in this small but special place.
This is my loom which I weave my items.I am weaving striped design Turkish towel in this shot.
After the weaving finish, I cut the tassels and then Zeynep twists the tassels or knots them.
Here is the last step of making my towels or blankets. After I finish the weaving, Zeynep is twisting the tassels.

Hello everyone...

I am Hasan…
First of all, I would like to express my thanks to you for the visit of my shop and the pretty interest in my unique Turkish towels.
As the author states “Always give your best never worry for results”, I always struggle for doing my best.

Primarily, my story began in a village located on the center of Aegean. Since I was a little boy, my dream is to sail into vast blue waters. I was amazed by the movie ‘’Men of Honor’’. Later, I realized my dream by working with determination and started to fulfill the duty for the Navy. I have travelled many destinations across the world and had the opportunity to meet various cultures. I would always write down those experiences. I was aware that they were invaluable moments for me. I would love my job but, unfortunately, I was dismissed by the system of government. Nevertheless, I did not give up. In that, the life shows us the other sides, one way or another. There was a detail while I was travelling around the world. It was the thing which is common in all cultures.

On the other hand, in our new industrialized world, the position of hand work was more precious and perceivable everywhere. On the basis of that situation, I returned the place of my birth as mentioned in the novel "Köy Hekimi" by Balzac Honore. I was brought up in a little family and a little town. My father even my grandfather would live off weaving. They would produce peshtemals (loincloths) known as Turkish towel. There is no doubt that I would earn my living by making it.

In relation to the injustices that I have undergone, I turned the page to a new life in order to maintain my life by the ancestor profession: weaving.

I repaired the first weaving loom, a remainder from my grandfather to my father, and started to make my first weaving. I have been producing Turkish towels in many different colors and patterns for nearly two years. I have never thought of throwing up the sponge. At every turn, I weaved fit to bust again and again. Ultimately, when I saw this great endeavor, my happiness became worth-seeing. At present, with my two work friends in my little ateiler, I immingle the cultures and designs with my towels that I observed in the distinct places of world. I both design and weave correspondingly. After deciding which color to use in which pattern, which weight to use in which size, I start weaving and create unique towels. And my other two friends are assisting me in this process.

I have been selling the towels I have produced for about two years in the domestic market, but after the pandemic we live in today's world, it was time for me to become globalized.

My meeting with Etsy was a result of the dialogue I had with the people there in many missions. As many people really respected hand labor and enjoyed working with Etsy. That's why, Etsy is the best platform in the world where I can bring together the products that I produce with people who value the hand labor.

I weave unique towels with threads made from natural organic cotton. I have always aimed to produce more advanced and richer designs and I will do my best to this end. I am very happy to share my handmade towels with hundreds of different patterns and designs that I have woven up until this time. I hope, my life will become more meaningful with Etsy and my past, which has been unfairly taken away, will turn into a bright future.

Sometimes life bereaves what you have in an attempt to give you very good things and then gives you more beauty. It is very happy for me to make new products and to touch people's lives with these products. I believe that life is beautiful when we share it in every sense.

I am Hasan. I am the designer of my Turkish towels and blankets. Before start a weaving, We need a template for our towels and blankets. I create the design at first and then I weave them in the hand looms. with the color combination I decide.

I am Sedat. I am very close friend of Hasan. I am assistance of him since 2 years. I help him, While He is creating these unique towels and blankets. I also work on weaving with him but I usually take the pictures,ship and pack the orders.

I am Zeynep, I twist or tie the fringes of the Towels. All of the towels and blankets that Hasan create has hand-tied or twisted fringes which is made by me.

Turkish Peshtemal towel can be wash in wash machine with in 30 °C - 40 °C
You may add a small amount of white distilled vinegar to keep it extra fluffy.
